What is a WiFi Hotspot?

A WiFi Hotspot is an area that has WiFi access to the Internet. The term Hotspot is now used interchangeably for the both the area where the signal is available and the device (WiFi Router or WiFi Access Point) that is broadcasting the signal. Likewise the terms "WiFi Router" and "WiFi Access Point" (AP) are often used interchangeably.

Wireless routers can now internet tv channels bought for around $50 so setting up a Hotspot doesn't need to be expensive. The only other thing you would need is a DSL or cable connection to your shop, depending on where you live these normally cost around $30/mo.

How to control access.

The easiest way to setup a Hotspot is to set the router wireless security settings as "Disabled" or "Open". That would allow everyone access, but how can you control the amount of bandwidth a customer users or how long they spend online?

One option would be to set a WPA or WEP key on the router and give that to your customers. That would stop people in the neighbourhood using your connection but would not allow you to set time limits on how long your customers could spend online.

In order to do that you will need a hosted or stand alone "Captive Portal" this is a specially modified WiFi router that appears as an Open or Unencrypted WiFi signal but then redirects any traffic to a specific web page called a "Splash Page" where your often asked to login or purchase internet access.

Hosted captive portals are often provided free of charge to business owners in exchange for a share of the revenue from the hotspot. With a hosted solution your customer gets redirected to the servers of the WiFi Company and has to pay for Internet access online. Standalone captive portals are normally sold outright to the business owner and allow you to generate tickets, which you can sell (or give) to your customers. Each ticket allows Internet access for a defined amount of time. A nice thing to do is to give your customer a free 30-min ticket with the first coffee they buy, then if they want to stay online longer they need to come back to the counter and buy another ticket, or another coffee :)

Free Reverse Phone Lookups - Do They Exist?

By far one of internet safety games most frequent questions asked is if there is a free reverse phone lookup available on tmnet configuration internet. If tm streamyx package do a search, you'll find many websites claiming that they provide a reverse phone lookup for internet firewall However, if you look closer, you'll discover that NONE are wireless isp free.

These "free" websites allow you to lookup the issuing location (city and state) and carrier of the cell phone number you choose, but provide absolutely no other information about the owner. So essentially you're getting free information that is completely internet business opportunities but why? Why aren't there any free reverse phone lookups available?

It all comes down to how the information is classified. Your home phone, for instance, is streamyx combo modem the public domain and can be found in the local phone book. Sometimes you actually have to pay a broadband plans in order to get it removed from the public eye.

Cell phone numbers on the other hand are generally considered more private because you pay for each phone call you receive (including from telemarketers, which makes it modem rentals for them to call you without your permission). This is why cell phone information is much more difficult to get ahold of.

There was a plan at one time for all of the major carriers to get together and create a free reverse phone directory, but privacy concerns regarding telemarketers (as we mentioned before) stopped the mobile broadband internet providers in its tracks.

So how exactly does a reverse phone lookup work then? Quite simply, with A LOT of effort and work. All of the data has to be manually put together from millions upon millions of different records and databases. This is why it is considered a service that no company can realistically offer for free. This is also why there is so much inconsistency in quality of reverse phone lookups online, as the accuracy and amount of data they have is directly connected to how much effort they put in... therefore many services vary greatly in what exactly they provide.

With so many choices online and the risk of losing money on a bad service (some companies don't provide online internet jobs guarantees), it can be hard to make a confident decision. That's why here at the Reverse Phone Center, we've tested over 17 of the most popular reverse phone lookup sites on the internet, and found the absolute best in regards to accuracy and the amount of data available. Online Privacy - Is My Information Safe?

I think most people would be shocked at how Streamyx online privacy people have. When you realise that every single web site you visit, every email you send and every forum you hang out on is logged and recorded for years it can make you feel quite uncomfortable.

Sure you can log on to your streamyx account login web site or online forum and search for their privacy policy. You'll find lots of legal talk mainly designed to cover their backs as they record and monitor your favourite web pages, upload cookies to your machine and target your email with carefully selected special offers. The new wave of internet browsers are helping, feature like Chromes Incognito mode are blocking cookies and popups and stopping personal information being logged on your machine but that was always the easiest privacy problem to solve.

The most difficult part on protecting your online privacy is Streamyx simple little language or protocol called HTTP. You see HTTP is how your web browser communicates with the web sites you visit. It's very simple, very efficient and very fast but unfortunately it is also in completely clear text and is visible by everyone. I always like to think of it as shouting across a crowded room, not everyone can hear because they are not listening to you but everything you shout is instantly available to everyone in the room if they care to listen.

Thanks to the Hyper Text Transport Protocol, practically everything?we doonline has no privacy as it is is in clear text.Absolutely everything streamyx login password do online is stored at ourISP, any personal information we send is logged here, and in many other places on it's clear text HTTP journey. Of course our service providers are not interested in all this information - there's simply too much of it and it is expensive to store.

This is the reason that the ISPs are being directed by various bills and laws in countries across the world to keep this information. The usual excuse for invading peoples privacy and accessing their personal information is to catch baddies and track terrorists online. This is of course a perfectly good argument but I do wonder is the slim chance of catching the odd online crook worth sacrificing everyone's online privacy.

Well much as I wish to see more criminals and terrorists caught I still want to protect my privacy online. To see which software I use which offers a full encryption, private proxies and total privacy check out the links below.
